Nogiku no gotoki kimi nariki (1955) wasnt made by Ozu, but it was very moving and also slow, but not as slow as your images movie.

Man accused of murder at a train station ran to hide in a nearby house.

The only occupant is a blind girl. He realizes this, and lives in her house while never revealing his presence.

I watched the new sci-fi film "Life" recently. It felt like a B-movie, but it had some actual A-list talent like Jake Gyllenhaal and Ryan Reynolds. Weird.

Anyway the movie was okay but I had to speed through some of the dumb parts. All I could think about the entire last half was how much better it would have been if a Japanese person had written it, because then the alien would have turned into a sexy girl by the end instead of a weird monster. The Sony execs need to start pushing for more Jap sensibilities in the movies they produce, the masses are ready for it.

And Satan's Tango, it's 7 hours, and 1900, with Robert De Niro, 5 hours.

Also most of Tarkovsky's films seem to last 5 hours, even though only one of them, Andrei Rublev, has more than 200 minutes.

The guy is a genius, but you should not start with him.

Also Gettyburg, almost five hours about the battle at the American Civil War. There's an even longer sequel too with Robert Duvall (Tom Hagen from Godfather), but I haven't watched yet.

Oh, and my favorite filme of all time, The Human Condition trilogy. When you put them together as a single film (they way it is) it has 9 hours, as long as Lotr.

My favorite film of all time, Lawrence of Arabia, has around 3 hours and 40 minutes too. So do Ben-Hur (1959), Gone with the Wind, Ten Commandments, Cleopatra, among others.

Historic revisionism printed the movie and helped nsjw college campus neo-Marxism gain it's roots in our culture. When the world needed a call for internal reawokeened faith the movie pretty much gave us heresy and apathy. No. I would like to watch the ruso-japanese war one though. When I was 18 - 20 I really thought I as being called to film as a means to brining people to hevean. Slowly I'm still being pulled in that direction by coincidences, but I think I need to become less to become more. The human condition was somethi I aimed to watch, but other things came out and other Japanese movies from that era with impactful meanings that were more interesting were more readily avalible thatvia have not watched it to this day. I've taken a serious step back from a lot of cinema realizing just because some thing can be filled and portrayed in a story doesn't mean it should. The same goes for books.

I almost instwntly regreted buying 1999's "Hell"or "Japanese Hell". I'm not one to complain about Japanese fantasy movies depicting hell or rather East Asian fantasy movies depicting hell sue to the fact that they actually trybto portray a somewhat Christian message or a message tha vsurprisigly encourages repemtwnce with a christian appeal. Rhe biggest one of course being 1960's Jigoku. The actors and those involved in the film mention the Christian undertones to the story. However I cannot say the same thing for 1999's "Hell/Japanese Hell". I can't bring myself to watching the movie and want to get rid of it. The trailer alone comes off as if by show casing the horror of hellit intends for You to end up there one day by mere content the viewer is exposed to instead of inspiring you to change your ways. It's not something I will ever advocate watching to anyone. I saw series puppetry skills in a cut scenephoto and thought I'd buy it since the whole hell gerne out of East Asia onlycuaght my attention for puppetry. Possibly the second now horrific works from this otherwise great filmmaker.
