For me, 80 lbs.

No.439296

I'm going to run one mile in under 5 minutes. I chose the goal based on my current mile time and judgement gained from experience with running. If you're starting from square one with something, your goals might be to learn and practice to gain experience. If you don't have something yet, your goals might be to try new things until you find it. That's the short answer, I guess.

No.489004

Here's some unsolicited advice. Losing weight is only hard if you just want to lose weight, and the new year is an awful excuse to make a tough goal. Consider resolving to try different active hobbies until you find one you can enjoy doing 4-5 times a week consistently

If you don't have the self control to not eat trash you weren't going to keep weight off anyway.

No.489031

>>489019
It's great that you won, and that you're trying to help other people win too. I understand that since you relied on self control, you probably had to believe you were doing the right thing. I don't think you were doing the wrong thing, but I haven't restricted my eating and have "kept the weight off" for 15 years. Normally, I would also recommend a diet to someone first. After they've failed for an entire year though, maybe instead of telling them they won't make it you could try to help them find their own way

No.489047

>>488977
no, since october

No.489097

>I haven't restricted my eating
Yes, you have. Or you didn't need to in the first place.

You might not realize how shit people's diets are. Whenever I'm in the grocery store and see those people in the scooters, they're always always always buying fucking ice cream. Like invariably, they always end up scooting on over to the ice cream section.

>maybe instead of telling them they won't make it you could try to help them find their own way

It's fucking true though. The only way to be overweight or obese is to overeat. There is literally no other way. So either you need to do super intense exercise daily (which I would say takes more self control) or just not eat so much shit (and also exercise to). You can't "find your own way" to a healthy weight. There's only one way that works, and every other way doesn't last.

Did make it, OP?
